Locating the position of a player in a football game is a hard real time task. We present a high accuracy local position measurement system. It determines the position of a player each 66 milliseconds, up to the accuracy of ten centimeters. We have implemented a tracking and surveillance strategy to reduce the number of lost measurement cycles. We give the details of the measurements carried in a large area with moving objects. If no hardware problems occur during the experiments, we can determine the position of a player 99% of the time.
